Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, located approximately ten miles southwest of Denver near Morrison, offers a striking natural and cultural destination at an elevation of 6,450 feet. Spanning 738 acres, this park serves as a unique transitional zone between the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains, featuring diverse wildlife, flora, and geological wonders. The site holds deep cultural significance as the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe Peoples.

The iconic amphitheatre is defined by two massive sandstone monoliths, Ship Rock and Creation Rock, which flank a seating capacity of 9,525. These natural formations create an acoustically perfect open-air venue, recognized as the only naturally occurring amphitheatre of its kind in the world. Construction of the current structure began in 1906, with significant development occurring between 1933 and 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps under the Reforestation Relief Act. This era of work aimed to employ unemployed men during the Great Depression while conserving the land.

Visitors experience a blend of outdoor recreation and world-class entertainment. The park hosts concerts, music festivals, and various other events throughout the year, having earned numerous accolades, including the Pollstar "Red Rocks Award" for best small outdoor venue. Recent improvements, such as the stage roof replacement and rigging expansion completed in 2020, have enhanced the venue's capabilities while preserving its historic charm. The American Institute of Architects recognized the site’s architectural significance in 1957, and it remains a premier destination for both music lovers and nature enthusiasts seeking to explore its rich history and stunning landscape.
